Part D: Methodological background of data collection

This chapter will provide you with the basic knowledge and tools you need in order to collect organic market data yourself. To provide you with a first overview over what you will have to do, Figure D.1 shows you the steps involved in the collection process (a so-called ‘survey’) of organic market data. Quality checks are a continuous task from the first to the final step because mistakes made in the early stages of the data collection process can sometimes be more visible at a later stage.  In this chapter, each individual step will be presented in more detail and supported by examples. You will find a short glossary of all relevant terms at the end of this chapter.
